Joss Whedon hints at Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in Avengers 2
With the first Avengers movie, Joss Whedon said that there were a number of Avengers team members he would have loved to have had in the film, but there wasn’t enough time or room. With Avengers 2, Whedon has the opportunity to introduce more characters, and it sounds like two that may be making an appearance might be Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
And they say to us, “Blackberry Patch? Why do you love Whedon so very much?”
“Watch this,” we reply.
As much as I want everyone to watch this and fall in love with it as I have, I have to warn everyone that it contains mega spoilers for basically everything Whedon including: Buffy, Angel, Firefly/Serenity, Dollhouse, Cabin in the Woods, and the Avengers. It has some Doctor Horrible in it too, but that isn’t really spoiler-y. And if you haven’t seen Doctor Horrible, what is you life doing. It is less than an hour, free, and online. Do that shit.

I’m going to get all defensive about these. Firstly, for Angel, technically…well, not everyone? I mean, first of all, some of them are already dead, so… And some characters survive! I swear! (Warning, I have not read the comics. They may in fact all die.)
Firefly: Okay, yes, but more aptly - the greatest tragedy in television history?
Buffy: More like - they didn’t then, but now people do because Buffy Speak had such a profound impact on the thing and the stuff and yeah?
Dollhouse: If you are referring to the show’s quality, no, it was by no means a clusterfuck of a show.. If you are referring to where the plot goes, Absolutely.

How much screen time did each of the Avengers get?
Hawkeye: 12:44.
Thor: 25:52.
Bruce Banner: 28:03.
Black Widow: 33:35.
Iron Man: 37:01.
Captain America: 37:42.
No, but people don’t realize how impressive these times actually are. The reason Hawkeye has less is that he is on the “bad guy team ” for much of the film.
But this was a flm that needed to take 4 characters that were big enough full movie franchises on their own, and put them together without letting any one dominate or losing any of them in the mix. Each has to be able to tell their story and seem important. The act that the times are so close attests to how well the movie did all that.
Oh, and lets not overlook the fact that the Black Widow, who is not and never was marketed at the tier of the big four gets as much screen time as she does. And it isn’t all just hanging on the side screen time. (there was that one scene where everyone was arguing and she was on the side like “guys I have a thing, I know Loki’s plans, I have a … okay, just be that way”). She is really important and her screen time numbers show it. Even though she isn’t a super powered, money making, off on their own slaying foul beasts super hero.
