Das Geheimnis des siebten Weges Cover by Kerem Beyit
House and Wilson remind me more of the classic Holmes and Watson than Moffat’s take on the characters. Doyle’s Sherlock always struck me as meaner and more grouchy-like - but also wry and sarcastic. Maybe my memory is faulty - it’s been a while. Meanwhile, I remember Doyle’s John Watson complaining a lot more and objecting a lot more than Moffat’s. House and Wilson are my favorite, but there are so many out there:
House and Wilson (HOUSE)
Bones and Booth (BONES)
Spencer and Gus (PSYCH)
Monk and *insert assistant here* (MONK)
Patrick Jane and *I don’t actually watch* (THE MENTALIST)

YES. I WOULD TOTALLY WATCH THIS FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER. BEST SHOW. SOMEONE WRITE THIS FIC.
BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL ORIGINAL SHERLOCK AND WATSON PAIR COPY SPINOFFS. (some more obvious than other moffat) AND YES YES YES. (Less so with Reid and Morgan but I so approve of including them. Because I totally ship that.)
Anyone think of anyone else to include for lols? Charles and Eric (First Class, as interpreted by the fandom?) Is there a Watson in Monk? Does the Mentalist have enough redeeming qualities?

Talmud Berakhot
Venice 1520-1523, Printed by Daniel Bomberg
BM499 1520-1523 v.1, Fols. 46v-47r.The Talmud is a sort of hypertext. It contains commentaries on the first five books of the Bible, and commentaries on the commentaries arranged in concentric rectangles around the page. Its many conflicting voices are arranged on the page in a kind of hypertext. So are scholarly footnotes, with their numbered links between the main body of the text and supplementary scholarship.from: The Curse of Xanadu By Gary Wolfimg via: COJS
Today in class, I tried to explain that House of Leaves was not really doing anything all that new and radical with it’s formatting, (someone suggested it was making fun of academic books with more footnote than text). I tried to explain that the Talmud was much older than that.
